What is the chemical composition of giant planets telling us about their formation ?

I will present recent works on the origins of gas giants chemical composition, using a population synthesis planet formation model with chemistry. The model incorporates protoplanetary disc evolution, solids and gas accretion, planetary migration, simplified disc photoevaporation and an observations-based chemical layer. We track the chemical compositions and physical properties of the formed planets and compare them to the observed values in the solar system, to understand the initial formation location of these planets. I will then present the implications of this model for the C/O ratios of Hot Jupiters, and make predictions for the JWST.
